LOW TSH LOW FT4 TOTAL T3 HIGH FT3 IN RANGE

I have been on Synthroid (.0375MG) and Cytomel (20MCG) for 4 to 5 years. I had severe issues with iron and had iron infussions.I just got my thyroid labs back and the results are:(TSH 0.26) (Free T4 0.49) (Free T3 4.2) (Total T3  202)

I have been extremely tired these last several weeks.  My endro. just retired.

Do I take my Cytomel down?

The levels suggest that an increase in synthroid and a decrease in cytomel would be more physiologic.  We usually use 5mcg in am and 5mcg at 2-3pm if we use cytomel.  So in your case, would consider a change to 75mcg of synthroid and 5mcg 2x/day of cytomel -- this would be more physiologic for the body.  If you take oral iron, it must be separated by 3-4 hours from any thyroid med to avoid absorption problems of the thyroid med.

Sorry to leave this important part out.

The T3 Total 202 with the range 84-172.                                                                  The FT3 4.2 with range of 1.6-5.6
