Low TSH, Low T-3

I was diagnosed with a multi nodular goiter at 19, I am 42 now. About 2 months ago I went to the Dr with severe leg pain and he did some testing and
found my TSH to be .12 , range: (0.34 - 5.60) and my Thyroxine free .7 range:(.6 - 1.6). I have since had a negative biopsy of my nodules and a repeat blood test, May 29th TSh .10 (0.34 - 5.60)
Thyroxine free .8 (.6 - 1.6). I had a MRI of my pituitary gland on the 31st, and found no tumor, so I am waiting to see an Endo July 26th. Any ideas? Thank-you!

my T3 is 30.79, my T4 is 10.2, free thyroxine is 9.9, and my TSH is 0.205 my Dr says I need to lower my dose of hormones.  He told me my TSH was too high.  I don't understand how he can say it is too high.  My thyroxine dose is o.125.  Please explain why he wants to lower my dose and not raise it.

Check T3 -- likely this is autonomy within a nodular goiter -- ie one or more of the nodules is making too much thyroid hormone, and given the lowish TSH and FT4, the T3 may be at the upper end of normal.  Would consider I-123 imaging of the thyroid to confirm the presence of functioning nodules.

Hi Garden206,

I am a patient just like you and had many weird problems over many years
with thyroid TSH fluctuations and Nodules on my throid along with other medical problems as a results. Many doctors wouldnt think nothing of it because my Needly biopsies where always negative. I am now age 37. I finally Found an outstanding Endocrinologist who didnt put much faith into Fine needle biopsy. My Entire thyroid was removed due to certain blood markers and Thyroid lighting up on a PET. I am now ok cured as far as my thyroid goes. I take one small Synthroid pill daily and im fine.  Mine was a very slow growing non agressive type Pappilary thyroid cancer which is the most common. no biggie.  My question to you is Have you ever had a PET scan done to rule out something that occasionally cannot be caught on a FNA Needly Biopsy .
If you havent had a PET i would request one.To put your mind at rest.
That is what shed light on my situation. I didnt mean to scare you in any way , I just dont want to see anyone else go through 12 years of NON diagnosis like i did. I wanted to share my story. If you are in my area (NY-NJ-CT )and need a new Endocrinologist who is a terrific doctor and person. Who likes diffcult cases and thinks outside the Common box. Emal me and i will give you his name and number.
