recetly diagnosed w/enlarged thyroid and nodule- cause of symptoms?

Recurring symptoms since August 2005. I've seen 10 doctors, no diagnosis yet.Tests seem within ranges.
3 days in hospital last week, colon/gastro done, nothing unusual showing. Have enlarged thyroid with a nodule, was a very heavy drinker for 20 years, with an extremely high-phytate/soy vegan diet. Long-term OTC sleep-aid use.

I was getting the electrical shock sensations too all over before starting therapy. They were like little zaps that lasted seconds and they would occur anywhere, anytime, even in my head. They went away after starting Synthroid and having it progressively increased in amount dependent upon my TSH level.

Those shocks went away and were replaced by another completely different, extremely intense shock like sensation. I could even hear it! It turned out that I was having an adverse affect to the dyes in the Synthroid. The endo I went to caught it immediately. My family doc didn't even though I told her all of the strange symptoms I was having and that while getting rid of some of the symptoms from the hypo, it was like new ones were being introduced. The endo put me on pure Synthroid and based all of the doseage off of that.

I'm on Armour now. Still have some things going on but the zaps are gone. Thank God!

Best to you.

Unlikely that this is related to thyroid nodule unless it is a hyperfunctioning nodule (ie hyperthyroid -- low TSH high T4 & T3) which doesn't seem to be the case based on your comments.

Would consider a neurology evaluation given the electrical shock sensations, stc.
