Hello Dr. I have a couple questions on TSH...

Last march of 2010 I went for my physical with blood and urine work. Everything came back normal to the tee. Cholesterol was 145, and my TSH "Thyroid Stimulating Hormone level was 3.31... Ok so I went last week for another yearly one. Everything was fine again cholesterol was 149, and this time though my TSH was 4.56 and they said it was a tad high. So they scheduled me for a thyroid antibody test a couple days later. They called me with the results and they said everything checked out fine and ok with the test. What do you think? I have read TSH like on my psychical reports ranges from 0.40 to 4.5...Also I seen some that say it goes up to 5.0... Another thing I sen was 1 to 3.1 is the new normal?>?? I mean last year I was 3.31 and this year I'm 4.56.. TSH.. I took the regular blood test in the morning that day and I fasted for 12 hours prior. Before I sent in for the blood work and psychical I ate a big handful of goji berries, took some natural based multi vitamin and took a couple green herbal vitamins with a ton of organic greens in it and mushrooms. Would this have an effect on the result? Please let me know what you think? Thank you.. also I am 6'4 210 fit and athletic/eat extremely well and balanced all other tests were normal from my blood work. I have no symptoms either like tired, sluggishness, gaining a lot of weight, etc... I feel great.

A high TSH would be hypothyroidism.  The higher the TSH, the more HYPOthyroid you are.  Hyperthyroidism occurs when the TSH is too low.  It seems opposite but that is the way it is.
