Thank you so much for your reply. My thyroid blood work came back perfect. Shoudl I ask my Endo to take my off the synthroid? She said she was using it to try and shrink the Thyroid nodules. She also stated that if my FNA results came back all clear that I should stay on the synthoid and then have another ultra sound to check for any changes, if there are no changes she would reccomend removal of the thyroid.

Chances of a nodule being cancer are about 10%. Synthroid is not always needed for goiter - usually only needed if TSH is high (or borderline high). We used to try to "suppress" goiters/nodules with synthroid routinely, but recent guidelines suggest against that unless there is a slightly high TSH (I use >3) and/or positive antibodies. Certainly avoid synthroid-type meds if TSH is already low-ish (1.0 or less). It can make you a little stimulated -- like taking too much caffeine, usually this gets better in 10-14 days.
