Should I Get More Testing?

Hi Dr. Lupo,

I wrote to you once before about my TSH level at 4.12 with Hypothyroid symptoms and problems with trying to conceive.  You suggested getting my antibodes checked.

Well, I went back to my doctor and he tested my TSH, T3, T4 and Tg antibodies but missed the TPO antibodes.  My TSH went down to 3.65 (not sure why).  My T3 and T4 were in normal range.  My Tg antibodes were<20 which is considered normal.

My question is, since my Tg antibodies are normal should I stop looking into Hypothyroidism as a cause for my symptoms and anovulation?  Or, do I need to test the TPO antibodies to confirm this still?  I know that even a TSH of 3.65 is out of range so should I be worried since I am trying to conceive?

Thank you so much for all your help.

If still trying to conceive, w/ this TSH - would check TPO antibodies.
I have seen several TPO positive Tg negative borderline TSH patients who do better w/ levothyroxine (esp w/ pregnancy issues).

I wanted to add that my doctor and OB/GYN are convinced that my Thyroid is normal since TSH is not over 4.5 which is my labs high normal range and will not do any further testing nor treatment for thyroid.  They both are sure that my Thyroid is not affecting my fertility issues either.
