I am hoping that you can put my mind at ease! This is my first pregnancy, and I have been regulated Hypothyroid for 10 years (I am now 28). My husband and I, thankfully, had no problems conceiving. When my TSH was first tested post-conception at 5 weeks pregnant, it was 11.2. My doctor immediately increased my Synthroid from .50mg to .75mg. Now, 5 weeks later, at 10 weeks gestation, my TSH was tested again, and is still high at 6.5. I have not heard yet what my Doctor wants to increase my Synthroid too, but I am just worried that my baby has not had sufficient thyroid hormone for development during the first trimester. Should I be overly concerned, and demand to see an Endocrinologist? Or is my doctor taking the right approach by testing every 5-6 weeks and adjusting accordingly? Any reassurance would be greatly appreciated, because now I am just worried that my baby is going to have significant developmental delays because of this. Thanks.
