what do u think doctor ???

Hi,
I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a month ago and the doctor prescribed carbimazole 6 pellets aday and actually my thyroid levels became nearly normal after being very high
i`m preparing myself for total tyroidectomy
but the last 2 weeks i suffered from sever pain in the thigh & i can`t move my legs for a complete day followed by sever pain in the right wrist and left shoulder and i cant even raise my shoulder then a pain in my lower left quadrant in my jaw also for one day, all these relived few days ago except for the pain in my left shoulder.
I went to my doctor last Monday and he asked for CBC, Ca,k levels  ALA and lot of other things but they were all within normal range i`ll check my doctor next Saturday but i need more opinions does really hyperthyrodism &/or carbimazole have direct effect on the myopathy that i feel ????

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Yes - both hyperthyroidism and carbimazole can cause muscle symptoms.
If you are planning for surgery, then that should eliminate both the hyperthyroidism and the need for methimazole.
Sometimes, if muscle symptoms are severe, a rheumatology consult is needed to further evaluate and assist management.
