TSH count 492

I'm 32 yrs old female.Mother of 6 and 4 yrs old kids. Went to ER, found TSH value - 492. had been treated by my internist for depression for long. Sometimes I feel pain in left part of neck. Put on synthyroid 50 mcg then in 4 days increased to 100 mcg and told by my new physician to switch to 150 after 7 days of 100 mcg.
I feel muscles are sore expecially my upper back, head hurts , feel pressure at head sometimes, cannot sleep, Still gets nauseated sometimes. I feel very little swelling around eyes.I feel chest pain 2-3 times a day, starts from right side and goes to left. once in a day I feel abdominal discomfort, little pain. Muscle cramps in legs. Otherwise I'm active. I found out my LDL 189. HDL/LDL ratio is 5.7. It is more I guess because of hypothyroid.
What should be my next step to feel better. Should I switch to triple dose of sythyroid.

Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism have similiar symptoms. Looks like you need an Ft3 and Ft4 tests to see where your levels are.

With a TSH at this value, your thyroid must have no activity ie completely dead. No wonder you are having all these symptoms, which most will probably continue until you reach your level of wellness/correct does for you to feel your best.  You might need higher doses, but give each dose plenty of time to work for you, or not, so test no less than 6 weeks after each dose change.

Feel better soon.

I had similar problems when the synthroid I was on was raised too quickly.  Your body my not be converting the T4 into T3.  It may be building up in your system and causing those symtoms.
Do not increase your synthroid without  checking your Free T3 and Free T4 levels.  You could have a stroke. ( Think about getting a better doctor.)

Cholesterol will improve with thyroid treatment.  I think you should be on a full replacement dose -- ie 0.7mcg/pound body weight.  Give it a few months - things will get better but it will take time.
