Thyroid Test results

Starting in August of 2009, for the past 6-7 months I have been having multiple health problems.  A lot of the symptoms match thyroid problem (Primary care doctor agrees), some don't.

Some of my symptoms are: Muscle pain all over, drier skin-especially on face (used to be a little oily-this is gone), tight neck/jaw/inside mouth area and strange sensations when I swallow, have lost about 1/3 of my hair, geographical tongue look and now slightly swollen tongue with scallops or ridges on the end of it, sore hands and feet and feet more than hands are extremely intolerant to cold, body twitches, tremors, strange chemical like smell in nose that hasnt gone away for a few months. (This is just a little of what I've experienced the past few months).

Some of my test results since August of 2009 are as follows:

8/31/09   TSH   4.51   (range 0.10-5.50)

9/14/09   TSH   1.97   (range 0.10-5.50)

9/14/09   Free T4   1.3   (range 0.8-1.7)

9/24/09   Vit B12   953   (range >200)

9/24/09   ANA positive 1:80 speckled (further testing: SS-A, SS-B, DNA, CCP, HLA, Rheumatoid Factor etc showed negative, ESR normal and multiple doctors including Rheumatologist have ruled it a false postive and declared not an autoimmune issue causing problem)

11/5/09   Tri-Iodothyronine Total   123 (range 50-170)

11/5/09   Free T4   0.9 (range 0.8-1.7)

11/5/09   TSH   1.18   (range 0.10-5.50)

11/5/09   Thyroperoxidase Antibody   96   (range 200)

1/15/10   ANA negative

I was hoping for your expertise on some of the thyroid testing that I had.

Thank you!

Correction --- I see the subsequent TSH levels have been completely normal -- would not try thyroid meds at this point and continue to pursue other evalution (ie, non-thyroid)

The TSH is in the high-normal range, suggesting possible borderline low thyroid.  The TPO antibody appears to be in normal range for that lab, so not clearly hashimoto's autoimmune thyroiditis.  Would consider a trial of levothyroxine to see if it helps symptoms, but this may not be thyroid related.  Sometimes a thyroid ultrasound can be helpful in cases of slightly high tsh with normal antibodies.

When I type in my test results they look ok, but when I look at the finished work things are missing or placed in the wrong area...I will attempt another time.
