cold nodule normal labs

I just got the results back from my thyroid uptake, after the ultrasound. it showed relative photopenia in the lower lobe of the rt thyroid which is more focal medially.  24 hour thyroid uptake measures 44% (normal is 10-30%) this I'm assuming is the same nodule that was  14 x 9 x 13mm and predominantly solid on the ultrasound, my tsh was 2.0 (0.36- 3.74 normal)  thyroxine 9.6 (4.7-13.3normal)   t3 uptake 33 (31-39 normal) and free t4 index 3.2 (1.6-4.7 normal)  all of the anti nuclear antibody assays were all <0.2 with values of =1.0 positive the anti dna (ds) was 2.0 negative = 10 and equivocal 5-9.

I had been at the Drs April 16, nothing was noticed at that time. when I went back 4 weeks later because my son had mono (we didnt know until he was in the non contagious stage) and I thought perhaps I had it too. the Dr put her fingers around my neck and immediately felt the lump (I felt this about 2-3 weeks ago but thought it was my adams apple, silly me lol)

I just can not believe how tired I am..
In the last 2 weeks my energy level is so down, and i feel like I can sleep during the day (thats not normal for me) since all the labs came back fine, can this non functioning nodule be the cause of my tiredness? I am going to a endo on Tuesday.

I had the same symptoms as you and went through the FNA biopsy too. I ended up having the left lobe of my thyroid removed 5 months ago. It went very well and I had an amazing ENT. The key is to ask alot of questions and be wary of websites that are there to scare the you know what out of you. Often there will be exagerations and horror stories about surgeries but really mine went very well. My nodule was 2 cm's and on the inside of my thyroid. The doc found it by chance. I thought I had strep throat but it was my thyroid. Who knew? They found it via ultrasound. I did vocal therapy with a voice teacher right after surgery and my voice was back to normal about a month and a half later. I was and still am at times tired but your body is over compensating. After surgery I was told it could take up to a year to stabilize. So hang in there and best of luck. It really is considered minor surgery because it isn't in the abdominal cavity.  I had a 24 hr hospital stay with a drain and three weeks off. Been good ever since. Take care!

now I'm finding out I should have had a free t3, free t4, feritin and tpo and tg levels. I think I'm going to call my internal med dr and ask her to draw these so they are done when I go to the endo... are there any other tests I should ask to have done. maybe that would shed more light on why I am so tired all of a sudden

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
The next step is probably FNA biopsy of this nodule.
The cold nodule does not cause these symptoms unless the thyroid function is abnormal -- a more complete thyroid panel is reasonable to aid the evaluation.
