I have been on 0.05 of eltroxin for about 4 weeks for my unactive thyroid. I seem to be gaining weight. I am a 30 year old female. I am a super active person and have been severly lathargic and gaining weight which is unusual for me. I am going for blood tests next week to see what the level looks like. I am also waiting on an endocronoligist Will I lose this weight once the level is correct? Ive gained 8 lbs.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
It looks like you have hypothyroidism that requires dose adjustment - would see an endocrinologist to determine why -- review all meds & supplements, avoid generics to see if that helps and make sure you take the med on an empty stomach first thing in the am.
