tyroyid treatment

Can my thyroid be treated or should i have it remove? My TSH is normal.
My left lobe is 8.07x2.6 with 2 nodules sizes 2.43cm & 2.19
right is 6.06 with one nodule size .082x1.32. the isthmus measure 0.84cm.

My last report stated that the gland has progressive cystic change in prevviously detected adenomas. some of the lesions in left lobe and isthmus show significant coiloid degeneration with tiny residual nodules adherent to its wall. no other significant changes is seen since dec 2008. No obvious lymphadenopathy in the neck.

If the FNA biopsies are benign and the nodules are not causing symptoms, then this can be monitored.  Otherwise, surgery is usually indicated. In some cases I-131 therapy (radioactive iodine) may help to shrink benign nodular goiter.  With the normal TSH, levothyroxine is not likely to help.

I would definitely look into having your thyroid removed. Even though you might have to be on the thyroid medication for the rest of your life. I have read of less chance of you developing thyroid cancer. My TSH and T3 is normal but my left thyroid gland is now "cold" non functioning possible cancer. Good luck to you on your decision.
