Headache

I've had this issue in boxing where i'll take a stiff punch on the top of the head, and i feel pain and numbness in a side of my brain for a few seconds, then it goes away. I've had this issue even before boxing, where sometimes i would turn my head and pain and numbness would flood over the side of my head for a few seconds, then go away. Should i get a CAT scan?

Hi,
This pain and numbness could be due to brain injury. I would suggest you to get a CT scan or MRI at the earliest and please consult a neurologist as symptoms may worsen.
Take care!

Hello,

Numbness on one side of the brain along with headache, more with movement of the neck can be due to whiplash injury or cervical spodylosis.

Diagnosis can be confirmed by X-ray, CT or MRI of the head and neck.

You can use anti-inflammatory painkillers like ibuprofen, paracetamol. Muscle relaxants, or narcotics will also help. Use of soft cervical collars is also helpful. A good posture may help. Brace your shoulders slightly backwards, and walk 'like a model'. Try not to stoop when you sit at a desk. Sit upright.Use a firm supporting pillow while sleeping and try some neck exercises.

If the symptoms do not improve, pls consult a doctor.

Do keep us posted on how you are doing.
