head pain

I have a lot of pain on the top, left side of my head. I cannot even touch it with head it hurts so much. Any idea what it might be?

If the area is sensitive to the touch, it suggests the problem is between the skull and the outer layer of skin. Of course there is the possibility of something coming through the bone, but that is unlikely. A cyst is more likely. Or a localized infection.

A neurologist, in such a case, may not be the appropriate specialist. It is unlikely this is a problem involving the brain.

A dematologist is more likely to be the specialist you want to see.

But you will go through a screening process before you get a referral.

Do get it checked out.

The chances are it's not that serious.
