Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
I know it’s a little late to answer your question. However it’s difficult to control a child and not allow him to sleep. So it’s best to periodically check upon him, wake him up, see if he recognizes you etc.
Over the time the bump will look horrible. Below the skin there is a common space extending from your forehead to cheek. Hence if there is a bump on the forehead, the water, blood and chemicals and cells that collect as a result move to lower areas like eyelids, cheek etc. The color changes over the bump. The redness turns to reddish blue tinge and then yellowish depending on the stage of healing.
Take your grandson to his pediatrician once. He may need some anti inflammatory to control the pain.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
New research shows that, in fact, is just an old wives tale that you should not sleep after a blow to the head. But still, if you do let him sleep, make sure to check up on him periodically.
Sorry for answer so late!! I know it might not be of any help now, but it might help for future reference!
