Sharp pain in the left side of my forehead

I am 14 years old and keep getting a sharp pain on my forehead on the left side. It is very intense then there is a dull ache. It can happen the I can not have another one for a couple of weeks. They last for about ten seconds, what is it. I have researched something called an ice pick but am I too young for these.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Yes, eye sight problems are the first thing to be ruled out. May be your number has changed. If this is not found to be a problem, then get your blood pressure checked, dental examination done, ears checked for impacted wax and if you use computers a lot, it can also be a pinched nerve in the neck (cervical spine). Talk to your parents about all these possibilities and ask them to discuss with your doctor. Hope this helps. Take care!

Hello, thank you for your comment. I do wear glasses as I am short-sighted. I have an opticians appointment tomorrow, should I mention it to them. I will ask my parents to take me to the doctor, because it is really worrying me.

Hello dear.  You are never too young for anything.  It would just be rare in your case.  I would not worry too much until you are tested by a doc.  I would suggest going to a Neurologist and being tested for migraines.  You most definitely have an MRI to rule out other problems. Migraines are not the headache themselves it is the illness that causes the headaches and more often than not there are simple solutions.  Also have you seen an eye doctor?
