hit head

A couple weeks ago, while moving rather quickly,  I accidentally banged my head into a shelf. Since then, I have had a dull headache off and on. I usually don't have frequent headaches. The first few mornings after the incident, I woke up feeling very groggy, which is highly unusual for me. The only symptom I currently have is the headache, but after doing a little reading, I wondered if this is something that I need to get checked by a doctor.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
All headaches following head injury should be examined by a doctor to rule out traumatic brain injury. Some pain is expected due to scalp injury. But if it is persisting, please consult a doctor. Take care!

I am not saying this to worry you or freak you out, but yes, please get checked by a doctor. Let the doctor know where, when, and how hard you hit your head. Also, let the doctor know what you went through right after the hit and any other information you think could help. The doctor needs honesty, so don't be scared.

Chances are, you are okay, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I am hoping the best for you and would like it if you can let me know what it is once you see the doctor.
