hullo sir,

i am a patient of bilateral tn. one side got operated craniotomy in which i lost 2nd and 3 rd dv. of 5th cranial nerve.
followed by permanent relief from pain, but also with lasting numbness on one side of face.

the pain recurred in 1974 on the other side of face, and since than i am tegretol and neurontin during the time of pain.
in my case i am luck i am having long period of remission from pain some time for over two years.

i would like to know whether i may be suffering from MS, what kind of test should i undergo to find that out.
does MVD work on tn pain on those who suffer from MS?  i am male 63 years of age.

In general, MS can cause TN.  Bilateral TN's are usually rare but can be indicative of MS.  I would suggest seeing a neurologist to get a complete workup of MS.
