11 yr oldson has burning, tingling, sore joints, painful skin

Hello, our son is 11 yrs old and has had 3 episodes that we can not figure out.

It started with tingling in his right front side of his head, spread to his entire head and then neck with in 45 min.  in about 30 min incriments- it spread to his arms, then torso, thighs, knees and finally to his feet.
Dr said it was a migrain.  (he used to get migraines, but we found that they were caused by a major sinus infection...since we cleared that..he has never had another migrain) The dr said to give him his imitrex...
20 min after I gave him the Imitrex, he got a burning sensation behind his eyes and it spread to his head and neck.
woke up the next morning and he had all the above sypmptoms, but the burning spread to his entire body.
went back to the dr and this time they said it is a virus.  give him advil...
gave him advil...no change.  later that day he started to see black and white pops of light and a shield of black or white would cover his entire vision for about 10-15 seconds every so often.  around 8pm he suddenly jumped off the couch complaining of his skin hurting...cant tough his skin...just to stand on his feel is painful.  Took him to the ER...they gave him migrain meds and fluids (iv) he finally passed out and when he woke up - all sypmptoms  gone.
He had a day of no symptoms, then on Thursday night he was asleep and he jumped again...crying tht it was back...and worse.  The tingling sensation is now like little shots all over his bodyand head cant touch him at all and the black and white lights again....called the dr...they said, bring him to the hospital....again to the ER...this time it took 5 hours to be seen.  He was standing up in pain for 5 hours when he was already exhausted...was finally able to sit with some discomfort, but the tingling was still there as was all other symptoms...just the sensative skin went away...
Hospital did nothing because he fell asleep and when we woke him, all sypmtoms gone.
The first time we went to the ER they did the initial blood work...cbc...all fine.  He had a pic of his brian about 8 months ago for his migraines...they dont think he needs another.
and the last is: the first time we went to the hospital his heart rate went down to about 58...this was way before any meds.  They did an ekg and kept him on a heart monitor...
They have now said it is anxiety...which i dont agree.  Does anyone have any thoughts on this.  We have an appt with the neurologist tomorrow, but i know she is going to say anxiety...(the neurologist on call told me it was anxiety and he is playing it up...give him a litte extra attention and this was all on the phone...) Our son has never been like that, never.  He is a perfectly normal little 11 yr old boy.  Please, any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

It could also be Lyme Disease, cancer, or a plethora of other diseases. The docs say that it's caused by stress, which fibromyalgia is also caused by and I see no reason whynwe can't all be right

Those are also all symptoms of severe fibromyalgia

A small enough clot on a major artery or a tumor on the spinal chord wouldn't be easy to spot on an MRI, both of which could cause the symptoms your son is exhibiting. I would have to agree, and see that either a) you ask your doctor to re-inspect the previous MRI, or b) get another one all together. Stress, though, would exacerbate your current situation. Have you been to any "exotic" places in the last six months, any change of scenery? It might also be a virus, but it probably would have shown up on the blood work.

You said you didn't agree with the doctors when they said that his anxiety was causing it, so, get an MRI.
I don't believe that burning, tremors, hypersensitivty, pain on the slightest pressure, spots on the vision, and conciously blacking out can be caused by stress and stress alone.
Then again, people often don't disclose much when they ask for help, like, the necessary medical background that doctors get legally. Without this information, the answers I can give you range from an allergy to Imitrex, to much scarier things, like a blood clot.
