Acute upper right abdomen pain w/ diffuculty breathing?

BACKGROUND-I have been practicing RICE alot lately due to an injured left knee. Doc say possible torn MCL or meniscus. I have been down for a few weeks.
I woke up this am with slight body aches as if a cold was coming on. By 2pm I had fever and I took some over-the-counter fever reducer. By 4 or 5 it had broke and I felt much better. I then noticed that I had an ache in my upper right side going around to my back. I had played guitar the previous night slouched over so chalked the pain up to bad positioning and increased pain sensitivity due to the fever. By 10pm the pain was bad enough for me to be uncomfortable in any position and I thought I might have accidently pulled a muscle somehow. Possibly overcompensating for tha weak left side of my body. I forced myself to sleep, only to wake up within the hour with severe pain. I went to the bathroom, normal urination, and collapsed from the pain on the way back. As a former boxer I have had my rib broken<left side, before. This pain was far more intense. It is very painful to breath any more than a shallow breath at this point. It is 4am and this *****! It has subsided with an ice pack to the back right side enough to type but is still very painful. I thought even gas perhaps, but I have never had any this painful and this high up. My ribs and muscles are not tender, the pain seems to be below them. I feel as if I am falling apart so please help!

get the gall bladder test asap. A ct is the best and fastest. I had gallstones and when I met the surgeon the 1st time he said, you don't have a few, you are over loaded with stones. Left untreated you could end up with a full blown attack which is extream pain vomiting and an emergency gall bladder removal. I'm so glad I followed though with surgery to avoid the extream illness. I'd rather have my surgery scheduled not a ER trip to the or.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Right upper abdominal pain can be due to cholecystitis (inflammation of gall bladder), stones in gall bladder, or due to duodenal ulcer.
An ultrasound or CT scan of abdomen is definitely required.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
