I have had fybromyalgia for years I am still waitng for answers mines got that worst that I in bed all the time
Have you considered maybe you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fibromaialgia? I was a care taker for a lady in her early 40's who had this dibilitating disease, which go hand inhand with anxiety, depression and pain, it is just now really being recognised, taken seriously as a disease and diagnosable. She would have good days and bad days, but never a day without symptoms. Just a thought and maybe a little light shed on this for you.
Hope this helps?
Now I have stiffness in my left leg 4 days. This is going to drive me crazy.
swallowing feels like a lump in my throat twitching is all over including face but not my tongue
i have had twitches for about two years
I went to see neuro today. really got no where. Suppose to see ent friday if weather allows. Do you have twiches on face? ( lips nose, eyes, tongue? What exactley does your swallowing problem feel like. Is it there everyday?
how long have you had muscle twitches?
I also have muscle twictes all over my body they come and go . the swallowing feels like a spasm in my throat i do not take buspr but i am on klonipin anti-aniety. i know i have real pain which causes the aniety.
i have armpit burning also have been through sooooo many tests and drs i also have swallowing problems and i have neck back and now frozen shoulder. i was wondering if you also have back and neck pain
I wa shaving neck pain but I have been seeing a chiro and it is some what better. Still bother me but not as much. Feels tight. Any muscle twitches. What does your swallowing trouble feel like?
Thank you, I am trying hard to not let them brush me aside, Everytime I get a new dr. he runs a few test and them says anxiety. I will keep on it though. It just gets scarier as it goes on.
If you had ALS, you would likely feel one or more limbs weakening and losing coordination (like stumbling or dropping things, depending on the limb). Swallowing difficulties, however, can indeed be a sign of ALS, but they can be a sign of many other things too, so don't jump to conclusions.
The impression I get is that ALS declines very rapidly, so if you've been in a steady state for many months, it may be something else. Keep in mind, ALS is very rare. Still, definately keep up with the neurologist and don't let them brush you aside.
Anxiety indeed, can cause many symptoms, and they can certainly seem like "real" (I use that term without intending to cause insult) symptoms. However, doctors also may use psychological explanations simply to try to explain what they can't explain. Be persistent, I've known of people who've been brushed aside by doctors for "anxiety" who've turned out to have had more serious problems.
Seen neuro 3 months ago, said it was a virus. Said swallowing was acid reflux. Said all other symptoms were virus. Then I got muscle twiches and short of breath. I have had 4 mri's brain and whole spine. Mra( look for blood clot of brain), ct scan of chest, neck, and abdominal. blood work over and over. Thyroid ultrasound, emg, lyme, biopsyin chest, brocioscopy, I am probably forgetting a few. All fine results but all early in sickness. Made follow up with neuro after I got muscle twitches on Sept 22, could not get in until Dec 7th.
Yes, sometimes I feel like when I swallow I'm going to choke. I read that is a sign of anxiety also.
What kinds of tests have you had done so far? I had a brain and c-spine, they were normal, and just last week I had a lumbar one done because of the burning in my legs. Don't know the results of that yet. What does your neuro say?
I hope all it is anxiety, but been on meds 31/2 months not better! I see neuro again on thursday.
No, I did not twitch before the buspar, I haven't taken it for over a month and I'm still twitching, but not as bad. I was on healthboards, anxiety forum, I asked if anyone else twitched from buspar and I had a few people that responded and said yes. I think anything that is trying to calm you down, which buspar is considered a mild tranquilizer, would cause the twitching because you are tense and trying to relax your muscles. Thats just my theory. As far as the burning, I have had this on my face and upper legs. Anxietycentre.com lists this as a first symptom of anxiety, I know its hard to accept that anxiety can do this, but all my tests have come back normal in the last 6 years, so I guess its time to try to gather my life back together. I also know that when you have weird symptoms like this, your mind wonders, mine does all the time, which causes more anxiety and depression. I told my husband just last night, I would give anything to feel like I used to, if it were to give my beautiful, new home up. Sad, huh? Hang in there, I'll say a prayer for you also. Jen
Have you ever had a feeling of something in your throat? I always feel like I am not swallowing right. I t was my first symptom. I am so scared of ALS.
Isn't it sickening when you have normal results and still feel like S#@T!! Let me know how you make out at the docs. I'll be thinking of you!!!
It is a releif to hear that I am not alone, although I am sorry for anyone who feels like this. You did not twich before busipar? The doctors tell me this is not a side effect. I feel like this is taking over my life, I am afraid to plan a future because I can't believe that I can go from feeling great one day to 4 months of agony and it just be anxiety from out of no where.
Springbrock, sorry to hear that you are not feeling well still. I took buspar about a month or so ago, it made me worse, I twitched all the time. I take xanax, which is similiar to ativan, it used to help, but now it doesn't either, if I take more than 1/2 of a .25 mg tablet, it knocks me out. I have had all kinds of weird sensations for 6 years now, everything comes back normal. Docs tell me its anxiety also, and it hard for me to accept that. How can anxiety cause all of these sensations, and why if its anxiety don't they go away, mine are here everyday, have been for 6 years. I know what you are going through, its awful. Good luck!!!
Do you have all day. It started in August- felt like I had something caught in my throat, arms and legs felt very heavy, hands did not feel like they were working right just very weird. I have had so many tests. After the antibiotic then I got the armpit burning. I am so tired!! I have muscle twitches, all over. they just jump under my skin in all different places. I have seen soooooooo many Dr's and they do all sorts of tests and tell me it is anxiety. I have been on Busapar and ativan for 3 months not helping. I am at my wits end. Do you have any of these symptoms?
I have also had some pai in the groin area as well. Do you have any other symptoms?
