Bruising & Hair falling

I'm 19 years old and for the past 3 months I've gotten bruises on my legs, thighs, waist & arms. I don't have any history of having diseases. My mom has diabetes that's all. Another thing is that a handful of my hair falls off. I don't know what may be causing this..... I really wish to know.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Iron deficiency is the commonest cause of hair loss. Hair loss can also be due to dandruff, dermatitis, shampoos, oils, soaps, dust and dirt etc. Thyroid disorders and diabetes too could be a cause. Insomnia, stress and anxiety along with poor diet and excess of caffeine too can be the cause.
If you are not on any medications like anticoagulants, blood thinners or birth control pills then bruising could be due to clotting disorders, low platelet count, fragile spider veins, deep vein thrombus, deficiency of Vitamin B12, folic acid, or Vit K, a liver disease or certain cancers. It could also be due to pressure urticaria. If you are on medications then you need to discuss that with your doctor.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Take care!

Could be a thyroid problem or you could be anemic. Go to your Doc and get some labs done.

Thank Jay,

I'm planning to go to the doctor today, I'm really hoping it's not something worth worrying about. I appreciate your concern and most definitely keep you posted on what is going on.

I don't want to scare you sweetie, but I want you to go to your Primary care Physician your PCP. I worry about a blood cancer and want you to rule it out. I don't want to scare you I just want you to get well. It can be a couple of  things but when you bruise to easy that concerns me. Ask them to please do labs draw blood for a (CBC)  to start. Please if you can keep me informed, I'm praying and your in my thoughts.  Jay
