My daughter has dark circles under her eyes. She went to an allergist for other reasons. I asked him about the dark circles and told him I have them a little bit and my husband's family has them alot. He seems to think that they are not necessarily genetic in the simple sense, but maybe a tendency for food intolerances that run in the family - like milk and gluten. When my daughter was gluten free (she couldn't stick with it) her circles decreased about 50%. He said take her off of milk, but she refused to do that. So I can't say for sure if it would have worked. But if you'd like to try the diet, go for it! And if you do, let us if it worked.
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Dark circles under the eye are often hereditary. If other members of your family have them, then you can do nothing about it.
It can also be brought about by less sleep, poor sleep patterns and disturbed sleep. This is one aspect you will have to check out with a sleep specialist.
Eye strain, astigmatism and other refractive errors like myopia or short sightedness can also cause dark circles. So have an eye check up.
Iron deficiency is another common cause. This can be known by a simple blood test.
Applying fresh tomato juice and keeping for an hour helps to some extent. Gently massage your eyes to improve circulation.
Eliminate the causes one by one in consultation with your doctor. Hope this helps. Take care!
the dark rings under your eyes represent that you dont get enough sleep in a day so try going to sleep at 9:00 and wakeing up at 7:45
do you think you got hit by any thing by any chance?
