Fainting

OK this is quite long winded but bear with me.  I should say that I am seeing my GP for this and am waiting for a appointment to see an ENT Consultant but wanted some opinions.  I'm 22 years old, female.  No health problems or allergies but obese.

Approximately 6 weeks ago I had the usual Winter sinus congestion that everyone gets, my ears were blocked and so was my nose.  I went in the shower and felt faint, called for my Mum and after a few seconds I did actually faint and lose consciousness.  For the next few weeks I was feeling really tired all the time, nauseated and getting bouts of dizziness so I basically spent weeks in bed.  Due to being so inactive and hardly eating I ended up in hospital for 5 days with painful impacted constipation.  Since coming home from the hospital I still feel like I need to sleep all the time, nauseated, dizzy and fainted a further 2 times with a few near misses.  One faint was walking from the doctor's office to the car and the other was in the shower again.  The near misses were cooking and doing my hair.

I was throwing up quite a bit all last week but that has gone now and I can keep things down, I just feel nauseous. I still have a bit of a blocked nose which is a bit bloody.  My ears don't hurt but one clicks when I chew sometimes.  I also keep getting a recurring headache in the same place, it's the back left hand side of my skull kind of going into my neck.

The constipation has gone but my bowel movements aren't quite back to normal as I still can't eat much so there isn't much and I am getting rectal bleeding every time I go from what I can only assume is a tear from the constipation.  Another thing which may be important is that when I was in hospital my urine and blood was tested and I was found to have high glucose in both so it looks like I may have type 2 diabetes.

So yes, quite a lot of information there.  I still feel dreadful and have zero energy to do anything and haven't left the house in 5 weeks besides the hospital and GP's office.  What do you think is going on?  I really need to start feeling better soon.

You need to get the diabetes treated and get on a diabetic diet.  Until you do that, you are not going to feel well.  Get tested for Celiac disease while you're at it.  Have your BP checked because of that headache you're having.

If you still have the dizziness, it may be a middle ear problem.

For the constipation, start a probiotic and consider Metamucil and magnesium citrate tablets.

I've had blood work taking so hopefully it will show up on that if it's something like that. I hope not though. What you went through is scary.

They checked my bp while I was in hospital a few times a day and it was always normal. It's never been checked when I faint though.

I forgot to say that they checked my heart rate a few times every day too and it was always over 100 usually around the 111 mark that isn't normal is it? They'd say "that's a big high" but they wouldn't mention it again.

I had similar symptoms (except for constipation) and was diagnosed with pyleonephritis (kidney infection). I was 27 or so, and it started with a urinary tract ifection that I ignored because I could not miss work. It took a week in the hospital, and more fainting and a second trip to the hospital before I was diagnosed. I had  fainted so much, vomiting, tired, etc... By the time it was diagnosed correctly, I was very sick. After the second week in the hospital, my veins were no good and I almost did not recover. Because of that, I was told that I am more likely to have recurring bouts of it. It took a long time to recover. It seems to be a hard thing to diagnose, and if it happens to me again, I will request bloodwork to be sure it is gone. It seems like I get it more often now, 20 years later.
