i started using abreva late last night.. and it seems to be going through the healing process.. this morning i woke up with a fat lip? idk. i'm not feeling well at all. i dunno if i am sick or if it's just because i'm pregnant. My mom said there's a virus going around. upset stomache, headache, and a sore throat are my new symptoms.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Both Herpes type 1 and type 2 infection can cause blood blister or itchy blister on lip. It can also be due to contact dermatitis to something like a new food item, a new vessel that came in touch or a new brush etc. You should consult your PCP and get something to soothe the itch. Eat bland diet low on salt and spices to prevent further irritation.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

its kind of funny curious i just got over a pretty bad breakout my self a few days ago.. its not fun  and can be embarising .... but the script u can get at the doctor is called zovirax it works very well... if u cant go to the doc then abreva is the best over the counter med u can get.. it helps with the pain and u will heal much much faster

mmm....sounds like a cold sore. Its a strain on herpes that is common. Can be spread by kissing, sharing drinks, lipstick, etc. Starts out tingling and itchy and becomes a raised bump filled with fluid (which is highly infectious). The best over the counter trealtment is Abreva, which is about 20 bucks for a little tube but highly effective! Its cuts healing time and makes the sore look noticeably better in a few days. Dont pick at it, you do not want to spread it to other areas..make sure to wash your hands and apply the treatment with a q-tip. Next time you feel tingly and itchy start applying right away....the blister will hardly form.
