Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Generally flashes, streaks of lights and star bursts are due to floating vitreous and less commonly due to aura of migraine and or retinal detachment (this must have been ruled out by retina specialists). Nothing can usually be done for this (floating vitreous) and patient has to learn to live with it.  A migraine type called retinal migraine comes with these flashes only in absence of any noticeable headache. Discuss with an eye specialist and a  migraine specialist. Take care!

Firstly, I would suggest taking your son to an optician to have a thorough eye examination. They will be able to see into the eye to check for blood supply and constrictions, and many other things. Once the optician has examined your son, he or she may then provide a diagnosis and perhaps a recommendation for referral if needed.
