Muscle spasms in upper abdominal region.

Hello, I'm 33 years old and I have four children. My youngest is 3 almost 4. I started an ab workout routine two days ago...This morning after getting dressed I got into my car to take kids to school. My upper part of my stomach started spasming. It looks and feels like a baby kicking me or a baby in the womb that has hiccups. I had a double tubal after my son was born and I'm not late on my menstrual cycle. I can stand up and they go away, they go away when I lay down as well. I don't have any pain, or shortness of breath. It's just really annoying! Is there anything that I can do to rid myself of this.

Hello,
This can be due to the ab workouts routine which you have started recently. Frequent abdominal muscle cramps are seen in prolonged exercise, stress and anxiety, anemia, dehydration and deficiency of sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium and in serious disorders like myotonia, vascular disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. But they are less likely in your case.

Eat healthy nutritious food and keep yourself well hydrated. Also get your Hb levels evaluated for anemia. Usually, these symptoms go away on their own after a balanced diet, but if the symptoms persist then a clinical evaluation by a physician is desirable.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
