My medical problem

Can you please tell me what causes salt cravings and why my blood count continues to drop every couple of months? I have been in the hospital and they have found that I am not losing blood. No internal or external bleeding.

salt cravings could be that you have unintentionally lowered you salt intake and crave more of it, or adrenal exhaustion especially if you stay stressed. As for the blood thing not to scare you but have they checked for cancer or anemia or anything like that or even have they checked your stools for blood?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Salt cravings and drop in blood pressure is often due to adrenal gland problems, usually exhaustion of adrenal gland. Often this is due to high stress life. Please consult an endocrine specialist and get tests related to adrenal gland done, which may include ACTH and free and total cortisol.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Blood count as in red blood cells? My grandma had the same problem. She was not loosing blood but her count was down to 8 at one point. She was so tired all the time. What her doctor ended  doing for her was gave her a Procrit shot. And she gets her blood tested every two weeks. Now I want to stress that that is what was the issue for her. I'm not a doctor and I'm not your doctor. But I don't know if it would hurt for you to mention it to your doctor. If you feel you are getting nowhere with him the you can always go get a second opinion. Good luck.
