Swollen Feet/Hands

hello
my mom has been having swollen feet, ankle and hands for couple of days now. She has been drinking lots of water and also grapefruit juice but no sign of improvement. The earliest she can get an appointment is on Tuesday. Shes 54. What could this be? she was also feeling very tired last week, but that seems to be gone. Anyways i just want to get some relief before she sees the doctor.

You're mom should get her heart and kidneys checked out at the doctor's.  She might not want to drink too much water while she's waiting for her appointment- not more than what's normally recommended for adults, leastwise.  Also, she may want to strictly limit her salt intake until she gets to a doctor.  You might get some help with her swollen feet if she elevate her legs above the level of her heart when laying or sitting while she's waiting for that appointment.  I hope the doctors  will rule out congestive heart failure and kidney problems.

oh one more thing..she also feels dizzy

about the swollen hands/feet i was thinking it might be because she is standing all the time (she works in a shoe store) but she has swollen hands too so i dont really know if that could be the cause of it.
