I believe the medical term for it is- Oligodipsia. It is just the 'official' name for lack of thirst. First eat allot of fruits and vegetables, they contain nice levels of fluids.  If your urine is light yellow (straw colored) or nearly clear, then you are drinking enough. On the other hand if it is dark yellow or even brown you are dehydrated. If that is the case set an alarm / timer like BluCrystal suggested. You also need to get in to see your neurologist and let him or her know about this. From my understanding having a brain injury could be a cause to this condition. By chance was your subarachnoid hemorrhage by your right temporal lobe?

The reason I asked if it was located in the right temporal lobe is because that is where our memory "functions" are located. I had a tumor there and it also effected my short term memory. The damage done to lobe could be what is causing your memory issues. If by some chance that is the case, there might not be anything you can do about it. Sorry.

Having a slow thyroid doesn’t help; but, the headaches—migraines or weird pain in my head serves as reminder. And that is despite my trying to find creative alternatives, like at least drinking ¼ apple juice without added sugar to ¾ seltzer. Now, I’ve come to realize that the concentrated juice (without the pulp/fiber) isn’t good either. Mind you, I do try to drink bottled water, as much as I can do so if I’m not busy; but, remembering is the problem, since it must be a discipline, and my memory is an added issue, creating a vicious cycle.  So, thank you all for your input, as I continue to try to deal with this challenge.

Yes, flipper336, I believe the subarachnoid hemorrhage did occur there.  At least I can tell you that the opening/the scars are primarily on my right side, though after they went in, they discovered more vulnerable areas. So, my brain has metal clips “holding it together”, so to speak.

As for visiting a neurosurgeon, as I alluded to Drue 1026, I don’t have one, nor the means. Thank you for providing a name to the possible cause of my symptom. And thank you for your helpful ideas about maintaining consumption of fruit.

Thanks; but, I tried that, and he didn't have any response beyond encouraging me to keep hydrated. He didn't even seem concerned about it. 'Not having health insurance doesn't help. Hence, why I'm trying to do some footwork on my own. Thanks again!

Wow, that sounds like the same sort of thing as those poor people who can't taste anything, or feel physical pain, and just as dangerous.  Here is an idea: go out and scour the stores for a cup that you LOVE (any cup that jumps out and says 'I'm yours' will do).  Also purchase ice cube trays that make cool-looking ice-cubes, and some fun straws.  Fill it every morning with your fun cubes, water, and you cool straw.  Add a lemon-wedge and a tiny umbrella, for fun if you want.  Get a timer.  Set it for 30 minutes.  When it goes off, drink some of your water, and reset your timer.  If you need to top off your cup, do that as well. The idea here is to make drinking your water FUN, as much as possible, attract your eyes to your cup, and remind you to drink it.
