Undiagnosed with Many Symptoms

Hey everyone,
I have seen many doctors in regards to my symptoms.  I have chronic pain, bloody noses on a weekly basis, bloody gums, fatigue, anxiety, a swollen lymph node in my neck, I've had a benign mass removed from my breast, have a small cyst on my thyroid gland, athletically induced asthma, IBS, excessive sweating at times of the armpits and hands (can be due to temperature or anxiety), and seborrheic dermatitis.  I used to suffer from insomnia and depression.  I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, but I disagree. Any ideas?  My grandmother and aunt of MS and my other grandmother has lupus.  I figured a little bit of my family medical hx could be help.

I can live my life with these symptoms, they don't stop me from doing anything.  However, I am only 25 and feel like I should not have all of these symptoms.

Thanks for your time :)

Thank you :)  I've lived in about 6 different places while I have had all of these symptoms (the joys of being in my 20s), so I don't think I can blame it on the environment necessarily. My one apartment flooded and I know there was mold there (I was lucky enough to have chronic bronchitis from it for about 6 months).  However, one of the places was actually remodeled by myself and my husband and we checked for mold during renovations--it was clear.  I have also cut out gluten from my diet (I read it can cause a lot of similar symptoms that I have if you are sensitive to it) and I do not eat tomatoes (usually not even tomato sauce because I limit my carb intake).  I also do not eat mayo.

So, that leaves basic dairy products, although I despise milk, and eggs.
I pretty much eat chicken, spinach, kale, fruits, broccoli, spaghetti squash, some red meat, almonds and walnuts, use olive oil and seasonings as my salad dressing, and drink a lot of water.  Every once in a while I get brown rice pasta.

Haha and yes...my doc said it was athletically induced asthma.  I agree with you--what?!  He also diagnosed me with fibromyalgia when he couldn't find an answer for my symptoms.  Again, I disagree.  I actually see a different physician now and have seen a few different specialists.  Still, no answers.

Your symptoms could be the result of two problematic scenarios I can determine.

The first is allergy. Specifically, food allergy, but it could be mold (I hope not), dander - or something normally benign. I know this sounds far-fetched, but I also know every symptom you described can be the result of some type of extreme allergic sensitivity. This, from personal experience.

Secondly, more remote, is a compromised endocrine system. Go to an endocrinologist for a check-up - you just hit 25, so it's a good time to get a base-line on your hormone levels anyway.

The mass in your breast was likely coincidental. MS is certainly something you must watch for, but your symptoms do not bear that diagnosis. The lymph node cyst is something to take note of, definitely - but that also bears out the possibility of allergy.

Do not diminish allergies. They can - and do - horrible things.

Look at wheat, dairy, and tomatoes first. See if elimination of one group at a time, for a week at a time produces any positive results. Eggs are also a possibility..and that even takes mayonnaise off your menu while testing for sensitivity. Do NOT think that just because you've never had sensitivity to anything in your life before, that an allergy cannot just...happen. When a person has adult-onset allergies, they're worse than ones present in childhood. Also - what did you call it - "athletically induced asthma?" Sorry, I know it's a legitimate diagnosis and I didn't mean to be flippant. However. With 80% of these sufferers actually having allergy induced asthma, it's worth your being assessed. Your symptoms all reflect this fact. The bloody nose action really makes me think an inhalant possibility.

Check your home for mold. Change your A/C filter religiously. Get an air quality test done on your home.

Go back to your doctor or, better yet, GET ANOTHER ONE.
