elevated liver enzymes-lower right abdoman pain

I ran a fairly high fever for 4 and 1/2 days, ranging from 100.9 to 103.7. I went to the emergency room at the time of 103.7 test results came back inconclusive, but was suspected of an underlying kidney infection and my liver enzymes were slightly elevated. I was instructed to take 7 days of antibiotics and return to my primary care physician 3 days later to retest my liver enzymes.  Results came back still elevated. Blood and urine cultures were inconclusive on the kidney infection, no hepititis was found. It was thought that it was some kind of virus that caused the fever and also effected my liver enzymes. I am supposed to go back in 30 days to have my liver enzymes checked again.  At this point I have felt better, but am still fatigues easily, more tired than usual and for the last 2 or 3 days have had a constant nagging pain in my lower right abdoman that sometimes is also felt in my lower right back. (below kidneys)  I do not have an apendex.
I am somewhat concerned and confused on what is going on.  I have done a lot of searching online for different causes but all leads to dead ends.  Any thoughts Ideas or suggestions?
Thank you.

I've been having pain in my right abdominal area for about 3 weeks ago, and sometimes it is in my middle stomach.  My doc ran blood work last week , and said everything is in normal range except my liver enzymes are a "little low".  Any ideas what is going on?

Just a cautionary note...Don't have you son get any immunizations while he is sick like this...One more thing for his body to deal with could worsen his troubles dramatically...Your baby has a systemic illness going on...If the doc doesn't find anything, and he has been tested for hepatitis, have heavy metals checked...also parasites...good luck...and God bless...

my son has elevated ALT and AST levels too. He is 15 and somewhat overweight. The doctor says he has a fatty liver and needs to get those levels down.  He also vomites daily and is quite fatigued. His doctor recommends he take 1000 mg. of Fish oil and 400 mg of Vitamin E daily. They are supposed to help lower his levels.  Good luck.

Hi, I know the fustration and uneasiness you might be feeling.  My son is 4 years old and has been complaining of back pain, feet pain, nausea, throwing up, diarrhea, and just flat out tired.  I took him to the Dr. and demanded lab work because he has had "Viral" infections off and on again since late November.  He did the lab work and his ALT and AST levels were almost in the 500's.  I have to take him for a repeat of labs tomorrow and I am so worried that my poor baby is ill.  Pray for us and we will pray for everyone suffering from this illness.

All this means right now is that your liver is unhappy...All kinds of things can cause the levels to be up...Is the surgery for something related? Like gall bladder? Watch for yellow stools and brownish tinged urine...It means there is an acute problem going on which needs immediate medical attention...You can get more information about liver condition by looking at the blood cholesterol levels, a liver ultrasound, the general blood levels...if you are actively fighting an infection, your wbc should be elevated...Get a copy of all your labs and go to a gastrologist if you don't have one...He'll know more about what's going on if your GP hasn't sorted it out...

I had blood test run for surgury and they came back with very high AST,ALT,and Alkaline Phosphate levels. I had a Hepatitis test done and it came back negative so now I am worred about having Liver Disease. I have about 6out of 7 symptoms.
Does having all 3 levels come back high mean I have Liver Disease and what test can be run to find out?

Just to let you know...It could be a form of hepatitis...It's hard to say for sure...sometimes antibodies (a positive test result) won't show for 3-6 months...Your pain could be "referred" from higher up...have you had an abdominal ultrasound or xray with contrast to rule out a kidney stone that is "hanging out" in your lower ureter? It can cause these symptoms too...Good luck..and feel better soon...

I have Liver problems as well and I am going through alot  of tests right now My AST and ALT levels are up to about 390 and 180.....Dr.s can't seem to figure it out. But if your levels continue to stay high have them check your gallbladder if you have one....it can cause your enzymes to be elevated. Also check for Hep A and Hep C. Or an Autoimmune Disorder depending on what comes back on everything else. But don't let it go if they stay high or get worse. I've been fighting mine for 4 years now and still no answers. All these tests I've told you have been done to me and all negative. So If you have any ideas let me know.

Give it some time.  Especially with something like the liver, it can cause weird stuff to go on in the abdominal cavity.  And abdominal reactions can take awhile to disappear; that is why most surgeons prefer not to have to cut through abdominal muscles in operations - they take so long to return to normal.  It could be that whatever caused your liver enzymes to jump is also causing this pain and it simply hasn't worn off yet.
