i have been having symptoms since late oct,or early nov, 2009,started with dizziness, that left as fast as it came. i remembered thinking where did that come from.well as the weeks passed it kept coming back, id get really hot to the point i was sweating.but id end up shaking like i was freezing.i was nauseated sometimes.my blood pressure was dropping really low and so was my heart rate. i was admitted to the hospital in jan.had all kinds of test on heart.was told that i had bradycardia and vertigo.went to heart doctor, he sent me for titl table test. blood pressure stayed fine heart rate fine. the second part  of the test they give medicine to speed up heart rate. they had to triple the dose because my heart rate wouldnt get where they needed it. every since the my heart beats too fast, had a heart catherization done was told i had a small amount of plaque.so that heart doctor sent me to another heart doctor. and im sorry, not up in the names of doctors, but he takes care of the electrical parts of the heart. he puts me on my second event monitor. still wearing that i have 1 week left to wear.he also sent me to a thyroid specialist. i do have thyroid problems, have for 15 yrs. he done alot of test but want know results for 2 more weeks, about two weeks ago, i had to be put back on blood pressure meds along with a fluid pill for swelling in feet and ankles.oh and i went to ENT he said i didnt have vertigo, but the second heart doctor says i do have it. so i relly dont know if i have it or not.was admitted to the hospital again a couple of weeks ago for 24 hrs, in intensive care, same symptoms as always. the only thing i got out of that was the dr told me i was a very complex person, and he had no idea what was wrong with me. and told me to go back as soon as possible to my heart dr,i go tomorrow. i just want some answers, and cant seem to get any.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Yes, bradycardia can be dangerous especially if it due to a failing heart, arrhythmia, degenerative myopathy, heart attack, or due to a valve disease. This could be the reason for dizziness as if the heart rate is very slow then there is not enough supply of oxygen to brain. Non cardiac causes can be drug or alcohol abuse, hypothyroidism, electrolyte imbalance, prolonged bed rest, and autoimmune disease. You have thyroid problems and these could be affecting the heart rate, especially since drugs to increase the heart rate do not help much. If indeed you have a resting heart rate of 50 or below then this needs to be investigated thoroughly. Maybe you need to adjust thyroid hormones.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Hi .
This could be related to an overactive thyroid.
Have you had your bloods done for thyroid being FreeT3, FreeT4. TSH.
Thyroid conditions can also cause cardiac problems, especially underlying thyroid conditions.
I hope you get this sorted soon, it sounds like you have been passed from pillar to post.
Get your potassium checked also, if possible.
Please keep me posted
