Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Numbness of the big toe can be due to pinched nerve, poor circulation, faulty foot wear, diabetic neuropathy, leprosy, nerve injury, multiple sclerosis and frost bite. This needs to be investigated before a final cause can be pin pointed.
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Take care!
I have the same thing! My podiatrist said that it is from the way my shoes fit. Nothing concerning unless the numbness spreads. Hope that helps.
Internal and external influence for the toe to be sensitive about a possible intrusion of forces.
Have you been wearing new shoes lately? I get numbness in my feet whenever I am on the elliptical working out and I've been told it's because my shoes are a little too tight and are pinching off circulation. If the numbness goes away after wiggling your toes, you probably don't have anything to worry about. If not, I'd see a doctor.
I hope that helps.
