Hi, I am 13 and I have had a ct scan,x-ray,ultrasound,and many other tests because i had to go to the hospital several times for having terrible pains in my left shoulder blade,my lower back, my hand going ice cold, and in my lungs when i breathe. The tests showed nothing. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with me????

Thank you. I have looked at the sugestions you have posted, and the ones that best fit my situation are the following : Addison's disease, ankylosing spondylitis, hypothyroidism, chronic fatigue syndrome, and pericarditis. How do i know which one i have? Like i said before i have had multiple tests done and they all showed nothing. Is there any way i can determine what i have without going back to the doctor?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Pain under the left shoulder blade is usually a referred pain from abdomen like stomach ulcers, acidity, pancreatitis, or ectopic pregnancy (unlikely) or from the chest like in heart attack, pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, and aortic dissection.
Another possibility is ankylosing spondylitis. Back pain worse when sitting or lying down and feels better with movement is usually caused by ankylosing spondylitis. This is a genetic condition. Diagnosis is by typical X-ray changes, sacroilitis (inflammation of sacro-iliac joint in the hip region), raised ESR and c-reactive protein and MRI of sacro-iliac joints. Medicines, physiotherapy, exercises and drugs to suppress immunity are the mainstay of treatment.
Cold peripheries or cold hands and feet can happen due to peripheral vascular disease or disorder of the circulatory system outside of the brain and heart. Other causes of cold extremities are hypothyroidism, eating disorders like anorexia, Vit B12 deficiency, Addison’s disease, adrenal causes like pheochromocytoma, anemia, Buerger’s disease, chronic fatigue syndrome and Raynaud’s disease. You will need some tests like treadmill test, color Doppler, angiography, ultrasonography and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging).
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
