throwing up bile?

I'm 22 years old and a smoker (not sure if that matters) but for awhile now (a year or so) i will throw up what I'm guessing is bile. it is lime green in color and comes out very "watery" and "mucus" like. It happens right when i wake up and take a shower. after i brush my teeth i get extremely nauseous and throw this "substance" up, it last all of about 10 min. I feel fine before and after. I do this a couple days in a row than for a week or 2 or maybe even a month and it never happens so not sure what is causing it or why.

any help is appreciated

Thank you
Mark

No i have not had my gallbladder removed. But i will set up an appointment my physician (because of my insurance i have to go to her first and than she sends me to what ever specialist is appropriate). But thank you cause i have just always assumed it was from smoking and it was just a minor incontinence that i had to deal with from time to time.

Thank you

Have you had your gallbladder out? That or a malfunctioning pyloric valve can allow bile to flow back up into the stomach. (Yes, the bright green means bile, which is made by the liver and stored in the gallbladder.). It is very acidic and can eat away at the lining of your esophagus (which can be permanent) and the enamel of your teeth. It is not something you want to ignore even if it just seems like an inconvenience.

You might want to talk to a doctor, or perhaps a GI specialist to have your biliary system checked out. S/he could also tell you if it is related to smoking.
