Hey bigtime496.
GGT (Gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase) is an enzyme which is used as a
diagnostic marker (not necessarily a causative factor!) mainly in liver disease.
Its functions include Glutathione metabolism (glutathione is the Master
antioxidant and when present in adequate levels it assists in keeping the disease signalling JNK gene inactive), transfer of aminoacids across cellular membrane ,Leukotriene ( inflammatory mediator) metabolism and other lesser functions.
Do you perhaps have elevated levels?
Anyway, I hope this answers your question.
Cheers,
Niko
An enzyme that aides the transfer of amino acids to cells and leukotrine metabolism. Ggt testing is often used to detect liver issues
i believe it is a part of. of a liver functions panel
