fungal balanitis
Two weeks ago I went to the doctor, the diagnosis is fungal balanitis. Next week, I will decide to do the circumcision in the hospital. May I ask, after surgery, fungal balanitis is automatically cured? In addition, I have 5 months pregnant wife, and now there is no physical adverse reaction for her, may I ask, my fungal balanitis have adverse effects on the fetus? Will not affect my sperm then affect the fetus ? ? I do not want to my wife know it for some reasons, but I really love her and the baby. Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by Treponema pallidum. The symptoms start with a sore which turns into an ulcer, which is called a chancre. The chancre heals spontaneously after 4 to 6 weeks. Your symptoms are not suggestive of syphilis but can be due to dermatitis or fungal infection. Fungal infection is itchy, sticky and gives a smooth feel. It is advisable if you get a KOH examination and fungal culture done.

Hello, I want to know, is it necessary have symptoms if I was infected with syphilis ? What kind of symptoms can prove I contrated syphilis? Last August I had twice protected viginale intercourse with prostituate,and maturbation with hands, and later I got the fundal balanitis in my penis. could I contract syphilis if I dont have other symptoms beside the fungal balanitis？？ Thanks very much for your help!!

Balanitis is an inflammation of the glans penis and is usually due to fungal infection. After circumcision the fungal balanitis heals on its own. Since your wife is 5 months pregnant it is less likely for the fungal infection to be transmitted to the fetus. However it is advisable to avoid any physical contact with her unless the circumcision occurs and you are completely healed.
