Thanks. The medicine I think has already started to help. I will let you know in a month how things are. Thanks again.
Hi,
Dutasteride or Avodart prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. DHT is involved in the development of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
This medicine helps improve urinary flow and may also reduce your need for prostate surgery later on.
However, it is recommended that you take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor. You will need to see your doctor for periodic examinations to assess your response to treatment. It may take several months before you notice an improvement in symptoms.
Discuss your plan with your doctor and also both benefits and risks of taking this for a longer period of time. Take care and keep us posted.
