Blood in urine (hematuria) after ejaculation

I have peed blood twice now after ejaculation.  The ejaculate looks fine.  I have no pain associated with this.  There is also no blood in my sperm, but the first time I peed after ejaculating these two times (about a week apart) it was like peeing pure blood.  Peeing after that was clear and normal looking.
I have ejaculated this week without peeing blood after as well, which confuses me even more.
I had a CT scan that turned up nothing, and will have a cytoscope procedure in the next month.  Until then I am on antibiotics...but I am very concerned even though the urologist seems unworried and says he has seen this before.  He said even after the cytoscope procedure an exact cause might not be determined.  Should I be seeking another opinion?  I am very concerned I am only 28 and I don't want to have prostate cancer or something.  Please advise.  Thank you.

Hi, I have experienced the exact same thing as you. I have had it happen to me 3 times in the past 11 months today being the latest.

When i urinated about 5 minutes after ejaculation it looked like pretty much pure blood. I went straight to the doctor and they took a urine sample in which it was still pretty dark. They said they could do a culture test with it and i had them do that.  My pee since the doctor's visit has been clear. The doctor said that i should really consider seeing a urologist

My problem is that the test he suggested for me to consider (called a ct-ivp) costs around $2,300 and my insurance has a $2,000 deductible. I don't want to ignore it, but at the same time 2,000 is a lot of money for me.

What other options for testing can the urologist do for me?

I was just kind of curious of what you found out with your problem, if you still are on medhelp's website. And any other advice anyone has

thank you!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Usually this type of bleeding which appears after ejaculation in the urine is due to prostatic causes like infection, inflammation, polyps or prostatic growths. When the prostate contracts at the time of ejaculation, a vein may tear and blood mixes with the semen and urine. Irritation of the gland (prostatitis) can also cause it to become inflamed and predisposed to bleed.

Please get this possibility evaluated from a urologist.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
