Burning at tip of penis

About a month ago I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend.  It was in a car, so I didn't have any time after to clean myself up.  After ejaculating I went to urinate, when I felt a painful burning as I was urinating.  Ever since, I have have a burning sensation in the tip or my urethra.  I do not have cloudy, smelling, or discolored urine, my penis does not have any bumps or discoloration, and it occasionally burns when I urinate, but not always.  It is just this annoying burning pain in the tip of my urethra.  When my boxers or pants catch it the wrong way it can cause very irritating pain.  What could this be?

I went to the Doctor today and he did a Urinalysis, in which the results indicated a UTI.  He said I had bacteria in my urine and prescribed me antibiotics.  Hopefully this takes care of it.  Thanks for your help!

Hello,
This can be due to urethritis which is an inflammation of the urethra (the duct which carries the urine from urinary bladder). Now, urethritis is commonly caused by a sexually transmitted disease in a sexually active adult. The STD is usually caused by either gonorrhea or chlamydiae.
The other possibility which needs to be ruled out is a urinary tract infection and also any stone in the urinary tract.
I’ll suggest you to get yourself examined by a urologist , followed by an ultrasound of the urinary tract and maybe some tests like urine examination etc. I would also suggest a 24 hrs urine test and a swab culture of the discharge to confirm the diagnosis. Unfortunately treatment is diagnosis specific and these investigations are needed for diagnosis.

I sincerely hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind regards.
