Hello,
Various causes of recurrent balanitis are incomplete treatment, treatment resistance, co-existing dermatitis, diabetes and low immunity. Treatment resistance can be overcome by applying a cream with a combination of antifungals (Clotrimazole 1%, Miconazole nitrate 2%, Tolnaftate 1% and Butenafine hydrochloride 1%) and oral antifungals.
Recurrent balanitis may cause scarring of the preputial orifice and the reduced elasticity may lead to pathologic phimosis. It does not cause penile cancer.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
hi i have a long and a strange query
i am a 21 year old male i had protected sex with a girl last year who was not hiv positive. i am not a hygenic person and dont bathe much u developed some cracks and redness on my glans a few weeks later also some freckles i dont know if they were already there. i thought i had hiv i was stressed,bp shot up had vertigo was really really stressed out i showed it to one of the best doctors in my city and he said it was nothing to worry about he said you could take a hiv test but i refused as i was really scared the symptoms stayed the same did not worsen with time and during that time i was really stressed and scared and my diet was only cola breads cheese, alcohol i smoke, all the things that feed yeast and i found out about the home test and i did it and got stressed out as i found out i had candida. now recently i developed oral thrush as well(note that my balanitis got left untreated i was highly stressed and also before my sexual encounter i was on a lot of medicines and antibiotics as i had developed gerd but after a couple of tests i found out it was nothing serious) i also stayed tired a lot. now finally i took the hiv test=non-reactive index 0.13 so i am hiv negative also i feel i have developed a chronic yeast infection but otherwise i am a healthy individual no fever no chills for the past 1 year or so then i recently read in some males blog that although uncommon men can develop chronic yeast infections too. so i tried out the candida diet and taking fluconazole 150mg daily for the past 10 days and i experienced some of the die off symptoms and have a lot of yeast coming out in my stool. what is your opinion doctor singh? also where in india are you located i live in delhi is an appointment possible? thank you
