Confused by what is happening to me?

I have been having pain in my urethra.  It gets sever at times and then it will subside for awhile but will always be there to a certain extent.  I am waiting to have a cystoscope.  I cant get it till Oct 21.  I am in so much pain.  The dr said I had a small uretha and gave me antibotics that arent taking care of the problem.  I have some blood in the urine but he said wasn't cancer.  Can you give me any information on why I have this severe pain.   What disease could it be.  If you could give me some then I could maybe look them up and see more about it.  Thanks You Renee P

I have had blood in my urine for the past 4 years also.  I had a cystocopy done 2 years ago.  The doctor said it was fine.  My  family doctor insisted I go to another urologist.  I  recently did.  He did another cystocopy and found a polyp.  I guess the first dr. missed it.  It is small but he wants me to remove it.  He feels the blood is coming from it.

I hope this helps.  Keep me posted.   Good luck.  ( I only had a trace of blood)

I read the list of things that it could be and I am concerned that I don't seem to match those symptons very well.  I do have blood in the urine.  The urologist said it is not cancerous.  But I don't have pain when I urinate and don't seem to have to go more than usual.  I read up on Kidney stones.  Don't think it is that.  I am concerned that they won't figure out what is wrong.  I cant even image waiting until Oct 21.  I am concerned that I don't know what to do if this test doesn't show something.  If any dr can answer me back anything.  Thanks Renee P

Hi
Some of the causes for urethral pain are:

• Infection of the urinary tract
• Bladder infection
• Stones along the urinary tract
• Prostate conditions such as Prostatitis
• Medications such as Alprostadil etc

Take care and do write in after your urological consultation.

Regards
