Enterococcus or Group B Streptococcus in Urine

Dear Doctor,
I had 5 times recurrence of severe Urinary Tract Infections, and one or two times every year for 3,4 days i had problem.

First Time Sever Occurence:
Blood in urine, frequent urination every 10mins in night, burning, itching, painful, then i was treated with some antibiotics in 2004 february pain disppeared from 3rd day. Gave for culture b4 taking antibiotic some organism was found, but doctor said this organism is senitive for the drug i took

Second Time:
In Oct 2005: No blood but other symtoms are same, when Urine culture was given it said no organism was found but the urine was not first sample of urine. I gave urine around 11:30 Morning. But still i took Ciprofloxacin 500 mg 2 times a day for 15 days.

Third Time:
In Sep 2006: No Blood same symptoms as before with sometime pain like testis gets pulled up.  Took same ciprofloxacin for 1 month. symptoms disappeared from third day. Urine culture showed no organisms.

4th time:
Mar 2007: Same symptoms took doxycycline for 10 days. Symptoms disappeared. Urine culture showed no organisms

5th time now:
Same sympptoms + pus like liquid everytime b4 urinating comes out on close watch, + *** Hole gets pain like radiating for few secs then disappears once a day + i gave first urine sample in 4 different hospitals. All the results say organism found and the organism is in 2 hospitals: Enterococcus and other 2 Streptococcus Group B.

It is 10th day after started getting symptoms i did not take any Antibiotic to know the exact diagnosis. From today i feel better. When i try to ejaculate i cud see only liitle amt of semen coming out without any liquid accompnying it like before.

Some physicians suspect for prostate got infected.
PLEASE ADVICE ME WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT AND WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM FOR ME.

Thanks
Naveen

Ask your doctor to try erythromycin for the BV. It is a one day dose.  Take probiotics also.

Hello Navin999, I am in the exact same boat you are in, only my problem began in 1992. I have suffered with Group B Strep caused chronic prostatitis since then. I have had no luck whatsoever in getting medical help for my condition, and have long since resigned myself to celibacy. The only thing that assists me at all are manual self drainings of my prostate. Its size continues to increase, my symptoms of sexual dysfunction persist exactly as you describe. If you find some help for this condition that the doctors seem to enjoy ignoring please let me know too. Thanks.

You should probably see your doctor and if its still positive for Streptococcus Group B then ask her about prescribing you penicillin/amoxicillin because I had a UTI was treated with doxycycline and still had a recurring problem then treated for bacterial vaginotis  and treated with flagyl pills... STILL i had discharge and stuff that wasnt all right yet so i see my doctor on the day of my last dose for flagyl and i take another urine test and she said she found strep in my urine and she prescribed me this amoxcicillin. I just started the medication today so i can let you know if it clears it up or not!!
