Epididymitis..

Hello,
I'm going to try to describe this as best I can though I don't know many medical terms or anything so hopefully my descriptions can do..

About a week or so ago I started having a dull pain in the top of my testicular tube. After doing LOTS of research and checking  for any abnormal lumps etc I've come to the conclusion that I have epididymitis. I noticed it started happening after i slept a few days in a row while wearing boxers and jeans and the boxers kept riding up so every morning i'd be uncomfortable in the testicles but I just thought it was because i didn't take off my jeans and my boxers rode up.. My left testicle (the one with the pain) seems to be higher up than usual, is this common with epididymitis? I don't want to be put on antibiotics because of the terrible things i've heard. Would things lke ibuprofen, ice packs and hot baths make this problem go away? Also I'm only 20 years old and nothing like this has ever happened before, will I still be able to have children in the future? I worry about alot of things when it comes to health concerns and I need some answers for this because as i've said this has never happened before and to be honest I'm quite scared..
