Hi,
Microcopic hematuria may require further analysis. They have to be classified as those involving the small structures within the kidney called glomeruli or if they are extraglomerular (do not involve these structures). A complete work up is necessary .If it is found out based on red blood cell shape and appearance in the microscope that this is caused by diseases within the glomeruli then one has to be checked for any protein in the urine to rule out immunologic andmetabolic disorders. With microscopic hematuria the differentials are tuberculosis, structural abnormalities of the kidneys, trauma, strictures, tumors, stones, enlarged vessels. Diagnostic tests are needed to completely rule out these conditions as possible causes of the persitent hematuria.
I have had the same problem for a few years now. They keep changing my meds and they don't work. I'm going to my third urlogist and I hope someone can help me!
Hi, I'm a 37 year old female that around 13 years ago was diagnosed with microscopic hematuria. I went thru alot of tests and they found nothing wrong. Still today I have microscopic hematuria with all my ua tests. I pray that all is well still for me and I 'm doing fine. I believe that I must have an issue in the caylyses of my kidneys due to my ibuprophen intake while in college. What do you all think?
