About 2 months ago was diagnosed with possible Type 1 Herpes infection in groin from receiving unprotected oral. Result was "hotness" redness and inflammation on scrotum and inside urethra until Zovirax was taken. Never had an outbreak. Zovirax may or may not have been the reason for the relief. Was just happy it went away.
This weekend had unprotected sex for the first time in my life. Always use a condom. Never have friction on the glans/head of the penis during sex thanks to the condom.
Midway through vigorous sex (nothing weird happened, just basic sex) I had a pins and needles pricking feeling on the head of my penis. While erect it wasn't noticeable, but when flacid it would hurt - ONLY if something brushed against it. All night after the sex, if I rolled over and sheets rubbed the head of the penis, I would awake in pain - feeling again of needles stabbing the head (not tip or urethra) of penis. Top part of the head.
Basic logic told me maybe I oversensitized the nerve endings, but part of me wonders if the alcohol, mushrooms for dinner, and general fatigue stimulated my version of a herpes outbreak (well known to just cause localized pain or irritation). I opted for the former assumption and gave it time assuming it would heal like all skin abrasions.
It has now been 4 full days, and tonight it hurts just as much if anything brushes against the top of the glans. I literally cannot walk. I have to wear tight fitting briefs in order to move around.
There is ZERO redness. ZERO sensation when the penis is sitting untouched. ZERO pain. Zero inflammation. Zero sores. Ive even looked for small pores or bloodvessels that may have burst. Nothing. Penis looks 100% healthy.
Brush it lightly with a feather and I feel shooting pain like never before though. Questions:
1. How long does nerve oversensitivity take to heal on its own?
2. Is there something that can be put on to nerve oversensitivity that can help speed the healing?
3. Is nerve sensitivity even something that heals?
4. Would you assume this is nerve oversensitivity going by the description, or a localized skin reaction from my version of herpes?
I figured after at least a day or three, based on past experience, that sex related skin issues would go away on their own. The fact that it remains in full force however, is lending me to think maybe this is just one of the many ways herpes does its **** in the body.
