Redness in the meatus

Hi,

I have been experiencing some redness in my meatus for the last 4 weeks and i can also see that the size of the meatus has increased.  I've been suffering from sore throat and body/groin/back pain for the last 6 weeks.  Can that be the cause or what could it be??

I help me out....thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It appears to be urethritis, an inflammation of the urethra (the duct which carries the urine from urinary bladder). Now, urethritis is commonly caused by a sexually transmitted disease in a sexually active adult. The STD is usually caused by either gonorrhea or Chlamydia.

The other possibility which needs to be ruled out is a urinary tract infection and also prostatitis or any stone in the urinary tract.
I’ll suggest you to get yourself examined by a surgeon, followed by an ultrasound of the urinary tract and maybe some tests like urine examination etc.
I sincerely hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind regards.
