Leukoplakia in the walls of my urethra

Recently I've done a investigation through cystoscopy to see if there's any infection inside my genitalia and inside the Urologist found that I've leukoplakia in the walls of my urethra. I have no idea on how it got there, and why it's there and why it has been causing me pain for 5-6 years. Could it be that it work as a barrier after a wound from over-masturbation? Nonetheless it has been causing me so pain ever since I have been a young teen, and now recently I did a small surgery to burn away that leukoplakia and now I'm taking antibiotics and painkillers and I'm slowly recovering. My doctor also took a small test sample of the leukoplakia and sent it to the lab and will soon eventually give me a phone call with some information, and also explain what the cause is of the leukoplakia being there.

Are there someone knowledgeable with these type of matters and what the causes could be for leukoplakia to appear in a place like the urethra? If I recall correctly my Urologist told me this was something unique, and that leukoplakia shouldn't in normal cases surface in an area like the urethra.
